About Newtongrange in Midlothian

Newtongrange is a town in Midlothian, Scotland, situated on the south side of the Edinburgh to Dalkeith road (the A766), approximately seven miles (11 km) from Edinburgh city centre. It lies in the former county of Midlothian, within the current local authority area of Midlothian Council. Newtongrange was formerly a coal mining town, and the site of the National Mining Museum Scotland.
