Cwmbran is a town in Monmouthshire, Wales. It is located on the Afon Llwyd river, in the county of Torfaen. The town has a population of approximately 37,000 people.

Cwmbran was founded in the early 20th century as a planned community by the British government. The town was designed to provide housing and employment for workers in the nearby coal mines. Cwmbran was one of the first towns in Wales to be built using the garden city principles.

The town has a variety of shops, restaurants, and parks. There is also a theatre and a cinema. Cwmbran is home to two universities: the University of Wales, Newport and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
