Cramlington is the largest town in Northumberland, with a population of over 40,000 people. The town has a long history, dating back to the Roman era. The town was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, and was later granted a market charter by King John in 1208. Cramlington was a coal mining town for many years, and was also home to a large steelworks. The town has undergone significant regeneration in recent years, and is now home to a number of businesses and amenities. These include a retail park, leisure centre, library, and several schools.
